Pennsylvannia Road/Marlborough Road Planning Application for 73 houses put back for further consideration:

 Liberal Party Cllr Steve Radford pointed out that an opening onto the Windsor Road Estate would create a through way from the current cul-de-sac of the American Streets and therefore increase crime and vandalism, the Planning Commitee has asked for further time (5 days) to consider the layout of the new estate

Cllr Radford also suggested that the road proposed was dangerously too narrow, disagreeing with the planning dept

 Cobalt Housing and Rent Arrears

Following the recent meeting between Housing Committee members and Cobalt Housing, Cllr Steve Radford has asked Liverpool council officials to work with Cobalt to reduce the problems and lack of co-ordination between Cobalt and Council Housing Benefits Staff.

Cobalt expressed concern at the lack of information on rent arrears at the initial housing stock transfer ,which had financially disadvantaged them

The Housing Committee has requested a progress report at its next meeting

 West Derby and Newsham Park Council Derelict Houses  Protest

At the Housing Committee (1st March) Cllr Steve Radford slammed the city councils record in allowing its own derelict and neglected properties blight otherwise prosperous communities

He quoted  long term vacant houses in West Derby at 30 Culme Road and 55 and 57 Liddel Road, "If the council is not willing or able to do the houses up they should be sold to private builders and get the stock upgraded to everyones benefit" hit out Steve Radford

In the case of Newham Park Steve Radford hit out at the poor record of both city council and Riverside Housing quoting examples in Prescort Drive, Judges Drive, Sheil Road and Newsham Drive, Steve was backed up by representatives of the Friends of Newsham Park

Officers have been told to go away and bring back a response
