80,000 Metric Ton Nightmare for Blackhills destruction...

Planners have now admitted that the levelling of the railway embankment, known as the Black Hills , will invole the removal of 80,000 metric tons of rubble. This will be done within a 4 month period, with 22 lorry collections each day over a 10 hour period, Monday to Friday.

"This will be a nightmare with HGV traffic blcoking the Townsend Lane route into the city and Anfield where it narrows into a single lane during both peak periods each day. Even worse residents in the American Streets and Marlborough Road will be disturbed by excavations on Saturdays."

"Lastly the planners want to add additional residential traffic flow from the new estate onto Marlborough Road , despite this area being one of the highest 7 areas of the city for traffic accidents, according to the councils own figures. Of course joined up thinking is only a limp slogan for this council - bless them " says Liberal Party objector Steve Radford.
