Lib Dems Vote to sacrifice Park and Open Spaces Policy

At the Planning Committee all the Lib Dem Cllrs voted to compromise their Open Spaces and Green Wedge policies by voting a part of the park alongside Balmoral Road and Gardeners Drive be built upon.

This was despite a fierce fight from Friends of Newsham Park, Fairfield Residents and formal protests from every sort of national body, including the Victorian Societyand English Heritage

However the campaign has not stopped here and protesters are writing to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to call in the decision and legal advise is being sort.

Even leading Lib Dem Cllrs , like Clklr Paul Clein admit this was not the best site

Sadly the so called opposition Labour Party couldn't even get one of their two Council places on the Palnning Committee filled, let alone make a contribution --bless them !
