Muirhead Avenue Flats Breakthrough

The City Council Cabinet is set to approve the sale of the major block of derelict flats overhanging the Tuebrook Roundabout this Friday (19th March)

Over two years ago Liberal Party Councillors organised a consultation meeting with Muirhead Ave residents, this sale is the first part of a major role by Maritime in the West Derby Tuebrook Area.

The flats 2 to 12 B Muirhead Ave and 669 to 675 B West Derby Road will be renovated using £1.75m from the Housing Assoc funds and £842,000 from the housing Corporation.

This £2.5m invetsment will create shared ownership family homes by combining current vacant flats into larger units. "This will be building on earlier work by Maritime in the Sandy Lane Area, they are very much our best performing housing assocation locally " commented Cllr Steve Radford

Chris Lenton added "combined with the filling in of the sub way , the sale of the Venue and Breckside Depot sites, plus the massive drop in crime due to the alleygating schemes, we are making terrific progress in upgrading our Tuebrook"
