Planning Process should be Open

Liberal Party Councillors are demanding that in future pre-application site meetings should be open to ward councillors and record in public view.

It was of great concern that in a recent debate on Newsham Park it disturbed us that Planning Committee members held a private meeting on site to discuss critical issues without any record being kept or ward members from Kensington or Tuebrook. Thsi is totally unacceptable we should ensure that residents see an open and accountable process.
