We have inspected the current summary of Merseyside Transport Authority plans till 2011 with some alarm.

When residents of Anfield and surrounding communities being persuaded to support building a new Stadium on Stanley Park ,we were led to believe the Bootle Branch railway line from Edge Hill, running through Tuebrook, Clubmoor, Anfield and Walton would reopened for passenger traffic.

This was an essential element to cope with the additional 20,00 capacity. Now that it is an open objective to add a further 35,000 to the stadium capacity, the need for a proper rail link is even greater

Therefore we were shocked that the published Transport plans till 2011 are silent on this commitment

We urge all in authority to rectify this apparent omission
