Parks Scrutiny Panel Visits Croxteth Park Wednesday 20th June:
Attending the Parks Scrutiny Panel today (20th June)
Liberal Party Councillor Steve Radford called for a more proactive role by the city council in ensuring properties around the parks , which are leased out by the city council, are kept in both occupancy and a quality state of repair.
Quoting Newsham Park Cllr Steve Radford said the city council's estates role had been negligent and allowed many sites with a direct view of the park fall into dilapidation. The more people living with a view on the parks is in many ways the best security we could provide
He also urged more work be done in extending natural woodlands in the Parks.
The work of the Parks Scrutiny panel will be reported into the Enviroment Committee on 28th June , 17.00 at Millenium House
