Dear Editor

We are delighted to hear that the police will object to any attempt to reopen the First Base licensed premises at Townsend Lane, in the Anfield part of our Ward

However what is disconcerting is that despite residents complaints it was an act of criminal arson which closed this venue ,rather than the authorities acted upon intelligence

Even more problematic is that there is a current attempt an almost 24 hour off license at 15 Townsend Lane> Knowing the extensive anti social and vandalism incidents in the immediate area we have written to both Walton Lane and Tuebrook Police Inspectors urging them object to this application .

We hope the Police will support our objections rather than await more incidents rather than acting to prevent the predictable problems aggravating known difficulties in Townsend Lane
